What is MOPS? 

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. 

We build circles of moms who love each other like family.

THIS IS MOTHERHOOD. The women sit in small groups, eating and chatting as they wait for the days’ speaker. They know their preschool-age children are well taken care of in the nursery. After they hear the speaker, a door prize or two is awarded before they separate into small groups to discuss the topic of the day. The women then collect their little ones, and they go on with their busy days. But they feel refreshed. Mornings like these are a Godsend to these moms. It gives them a chance to learn about a range of topics, from car seat safety to fitness to organizational strategies and beyond. It also allows them to meet up with other moms of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Motherhood, especially stay-at-home motherhood, can isolate women if they aren’t careful. Here at Thunder Mountain Church MOPS, we strive to prevent that feeling of isolation.


What to expect


We understand it can be stressful to be the new person and we want to ease your concerns.

Here’s an idea of what you’ll experience when you attend a MOPS/MomsNext meeting:



  • We meet in the sanctuary of Thunder Mountain Church.

  • Moms enter the front door and drop off food (if it's their turn to bring something).

  • Moms then take their children to their designated MOPS KIDS rooms and check them on a tablet. Then head to the Welcome Table, where there are name tags for moms and return to the sanctuary to promptly to start the meeting.  


  • Now it’s your time, Mom! The meeting starts with announcements, a devotion, and an icebreaker.  

  • During each meeting, we enjoy a potluck meal together.

  • You'll hear from a guest speaker/video, or do something creative/fun together during the meeting.  The speakers are chosen to enrich ourselves as women, wives, and mothers.  The crafts/activities are just for fun!

  • We end the meeting by helping to clean up and picking up our children.

Our Timeline:

  • 9:15-9:25: Check-in (get name tags) and drop kids off in their rooms 

  • 9:30-11:15: Meeting time: announcements, devotion, potluck meal, socializing, and speaker or creative activity

  • 11:15-11:30: Clean up and then pick up kids from their rooms
